China discontented with US over Taiwan issue

"China expresses strong discontent and opposition to the US' behaviour as it is a gross violation of the 'One China' principle, the regulations of the three joint communiques between China and the US and the basic rules of international relations and law," said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang.

His remarks are the response of China to the US' passing of the bill on tightening relations with Taiwan.

The Taiwan issue is related with the sovereignty, territorial integrity and core interests of China and the Chinese government and people are steadfast in their decision and will to safeguard them, he said.

The spokesman for the Taiwan affairs office of the State Council also said that there is only one China in the world and no foreign interference in it is allowed as the Taiwan issue is an internal affair of it.
